Project Overview

Inroduction

The VP project aims to reach two main objectives:

A To create an RPG game that can both be played on a computer, over the internet or at home or communal space on a table top. To do this, VP is not hard-coded or digitally intensive as many computer RPG are and yet aims to not be as complicated as other existing pen and paper RPG games like Dungeons and Dragons.

B To build a community where individuals have a larger effect in each of their actions through control of states and kingdoms on a huge world map. Players can work together to earn points for their objective and attempt to rule the world or fight back and try and stop the oppressive players.

With these goals in mind, it was decided that each player needed to be able to function as a group or independently and still have both force and momentum behind them. This is where the concept of every player controlling their own guild came into play. Alone a single player can control up to 20 individual units that can be levelled and customised with near infinite possibility but if they ally with another player, their combined units double or triple.

Of-Nihility

I tried to write this two days ago when it initially happened but for some reason events conspired against me (I blame the mesmers) but finally I think I can get it down.

A couple days ago my computer decided to commit hari-kari and refused to turn on. Luckily I have back up disk, external HDD docks and enough knowledge not to lose the numerous numbers of PSD files used for creating things that I have and masses of information and data I have stored... but... my computer did not want to make it easy for me.

The CD drive would not register so I couldn't install windows normally. I couldn't reformat it as an external so eventually I had to put it into another person's laptop and install it, hoping it wouldn't over-write the bios data for the laptop. Luckily it's all good now. Just slowly getting things back and spent almost 2 days getting programs back and data back where it should be. Luckily it's different now in that I've got every non program file on externals so Recovery should be faster next time.

Also. Fuck you Ben, I'm NOT talking to you! Learn to swim.
